Over 400 carers contributed to the Government’s social security consultation which closed at the end of October.

The consultation asked people’s views on the how the social security system should work in Scotland and what approach should be taken with the devolved benefits, including Carers Allowance and disability benefits.

Our submission brought together the views of carers from local events, our national member event and the National Carer Organisation’s (NCO) online survey.

This the beginning of a very complex process. Carers across all our meetings have expressed their desire to continue their involvement in developments as they emerge. We will be keeping you informed of further progress.
