Guide to SDS for people with dementia

By on November 30, 2018 in News

We are all entitled to have control over our own lives and to live as independently as possible. This applies to people with dementia as much as it does to anyone else. Having capacity to make decisions and being able to exercise legal capacity is important to making sure that this happens.

MECOPP have produced a guide to Self-directed for people with dementia. This explains:

  • What self-directed support is;
  • How adults with dementia may access self-directed support and/or be assisted by carers and others to do this; and
  • How self-directed support may interact with other legislation relevant to people with dementia.

The Guide can be downloaded here: MECOPP Guide to self-directed support for people with dementia
