from recognition to rights

Our vision & aims

It is our vision that carers in Scotland will achieve full recognition as equal partners in care. Carers will have the right to quality services and access to personalised support at every stage in their caring role to ensure they enjoy good health and a life outside of caring.

We aim to:

  • Provide networking, information and mutual support for carer-led organisations in Scotland
  • Bring carers and workers together to explore issues, analyse developments and identify key issues affecting carers in Scotland
  • Develop a collective response to key issues enabling members of the Coalition to bring their concerns to the attention of interested parties at local, regional and national level

Outcomes for Carers
Improving outcomes for carers is at the heart of our work. The Coalition is committed to ensuring that:

  • Carers and local carer organisations will be better informed about local and national policy and practice developments
  • Carers and local carer organisations will be more confident in their ability to influence and shape relevant policy and practice locally
  • Carers and local carer organisations will be more confident in their ability to explore, identify and analyse the key issues for unpaid carers in Scotland
