From April 2026, many of the Social Security Scotland and DWP Payments will increase by 3.8%.

Some of the key changes to disability and carer benefits in Scotland for 2026/27 include: 


CARER SUPPORT PAYMENT (REPLACES CARERS ALLOWANCE)
Increased to £86.45

The earnings limit for Carer Support Payment will also be increased to £204 per week (the equivalent of 16 hours at the new National Living Wage)


SCOTTISH CARER SUPPLEMENT ( replaces the lump payments that were previously paid in June and December)


Weekly payment of £11.70


CARER ADDITIONAL PERSON PAYMENT ( a new payment if you are caring for more than 1 person)


Weekly payment of £10.40 per additional person


YOUNG CARER GRANT ( annual grant available to young carers aged 16 – 19)
Increased to £405.10


CHILD DISABILITY PAYMENT
Care Component
Highest rate increased to £114.60

Middle rate increased to £76.70
Lowest rate increased to £30.30

Mobility Component
Higher rate increased to £80.00

Lower rate increased to £30.30


ADULT DISABILITY PAYMENT (also PIP / Adult DLA)
Daily Living Component
Enhanced rate increased to £114.60

Standard rate increased to £76.70

Mobility Component
Enhanced rate increased to £80.00

Standard rate increased to £30.30


PENSION AGE DISABILITY PAYMENT (REPLACES ATTENDANCE ALLOWANCE)
Higher rate increased to £114.60 

Lower rate  increased to £76.70


CHILD WINTER HEATING PAYMENT 
Increased to £265.50


WINTER HEATING PAYMENT 
Increased to £62.00
