From Recognition to Rights: Leadership Training for Unpaid Carers in Inverclyde
If you are an unpaid carer living in Inverclyde and you want to understand your rights, speak up in meetings, or represent carers in your area, this programme is for you.
From Recognition to Rights is a free five-week leadership programme developed by the Coalition of Carers in Scotland in partnership with Carers Gateway Inverclyde, Unity Enterprise, and Freewheel Coaching.
What the programme covers
Over five weekly Thursday sessions ( venue in Inverclyde to be confirmed) you will explore the history of the carers and disabled peoples movement, your rights under carer legislation, Self-Directed Support, and how to use your own experience as a starting point for change. The final session is a graduation event where you will share your vision with invited guests.
Travel costs and replacement care costs to attend the training can be covered.

What happens after
Participants will have the opportunity to take part in further training and get involved in the local champions board for unpaid carers in Inverclyde.
