Re-thinking Eligibility Criteria

The meeting including included: 

  • An outline of the steps the Scottish Government is taking to re-think adult eligibility criteria, following the Joint Statement of Intent with COSLA and as part of the work of developing a National Care Service

 

  • An overview of the Exploring Eligibility research project which is bringing together key stakeholders, including carers, supported people and staff from different sectors to explore how we can improve the process for people accessing services

 

  • Discussion groups to look at how eligibility criteria currently operates and what impact this has on carers and the people they care for & how we can improve outcomes for carers and the people they care for through more innovative models for eligibility
