After the failed attempt to create a National Care Service through legislation earlier this year, a new paper has been published to highlight key priorities for social care reform amid ongoing uncertainty.
Developed collaboratively by six organisations advocating for people supported by social care, unpaid carers, and care providers, the paper builds on the vision set out by Derek Feeley in the 2021 Independent Review of Adult Social Care.
The paper calls for full cross-party support to drive forward the long-promised reforms in social care. With the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections on the horizon, it is vital that we get it right for supported people, unpaid carers, and the care workforce.
